Terminal Biographer

Now in private beta

Your dev story,

Terminal Biographer captures your entire workflow — terminal, editor, AI chats — and turns each day into a shareable narrative. Automatically.

The Problem

Your best work
disappears every day

  • × You ship features, debug issues, deploy services — but at standup, you can’t remember half of it
  • × LinkedIn posts feel forced because you’re reconstructing work from memory instead of documenting it live
  • × Your build journal is empty. The brilliant debugging session from Tuesday? Gone forever.
How it works

Three steps. Zero effort.

Terminal Biographer runs quietly in the background, then delivers your story at end of day.

1
Capture Everything
Every terminal command, VS Code edit, Claude conversation, and git commit is auto-logged in real-time. On mobile, share from any app directly into your log.

2
AI Summarizes Your Day
At end of day, Terminal Biographer generates three formats automatically — each optimized for a different audience.
ops report blog post linkedin post
3
Share & Track
One-click share cards with public links. See exactly who viewed your content, where they came from, and which posts resonated most.

FAQ

Common questions

Is it free?
Yes, the core app is free forever. Template-based summaries, desktop capture, encryption, and sharing are all included. Premium AI summaries powered by Claude are a paid add-on coming soon.
Is my data private?
Everything is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using your own keys. Self-hosted users keep all data local. Cloud sync users get end-to-end encryption — we never see your raw data.
What platforms are supported?
Windows, Linux, and macOS for desktop. Android for mobile. iOS is planned. The desktop app uses Tauri (Rust + WebView), and the mobile app shares the same unified UI.
Can I self-host?
Yes. The server is a Python FastAPI app you can run anywhere — your own machine, a VPS, or a container. All data stays on your infrastructure unless you opt into cloud sync.
What AI does it use?
The free tier uses pattern detection and template heuristics — no AI, no API calls, completely offline. The premium tier uses Claude by Anthropic for natural-language daily summaries.
